Cheetah The King of Sprinting in the African Savannah

Cheetah Family: Felidae Genus: Acinonyx Species: Jubatus
The world's fastest land mammal baby wildlife animals
No where in the world can you find an animal which is as swift and agile other than the African Savannah cheetahs. These beautiful endangered cheetahs have seen the days when they were hunted for their beautiful hides and skins during the early centuries. Did you know that cheetahs once lived in Europe, Asia, Russia and North America? What is so common between the cheetah and the current fastest man in the world? is it the speed that they all have in common? How about the great looks that the cheetah and the fastest man has. Well it it is not the size and the strength of the animal? what makes the cheetah always excel in running great speeds in order to have that meal of the day which might be hard to come by? Just like the fastest man in the world, its not just the beautiful living environment and the spectacular training facilities that make a man the best or to be able to excel in sports such as track and field.

The cheetah, one of Africa's greatest cats has always captured the eyes of many. For all African safari animal lovers, the glimpse of capturing the Cheetah in its hunting spree and in its natural habitat  is just a perfect moment of a beautiful African Savannah safari where as each and every cheetah's move is just a perfect shot being captured with the latest cameras, mobile and movie devices. The cheetah with all its speed in the pursuit of its daily meal comes at a price when all that the cheetah has hunted vanishes in front of  him and with little consolation the visible cheetah tear marks shows it all as  day well spent in the wilderness. While life in the African wilderness for the cheetah is always determined with the availability of other animals of prey, the different weather condition at its disposal during the feeding and breeding grounds and the competition with other predators, life in the world for the fastest runner just like the cheetah comes with injuries, rivalries from the habitat which culminate in motivation and perfection which earned after a decade of trial and era.

The cheetah just like many of the big cats and small cats species has a slender. It is this cheetah characteristic which has made the cheetah to excel in the art of movement in the African plains and many of the worlds forests where the cheetah once used to call home as part of its feeding and breeding grounds. Like many of the greatest sprinters in the world, all the athletes who have always been the fastest runners in the world have long legs while the cheetah is blessed with long legs and at the same time a long body as well. Having a look in the wilderness with a cheetah standing within a stone throw, you will get the idea how agile the cheetah is. As a matter of fact, any athlete who knows how to sprint will have some fine pair of legs in order to pushes himself to the limit and gain speeds of high quality while at the same time using less energy. The cheetah king of speed with its long legs and the perfect paws for running is just the perfect weapon for survival in the African wilderness.

What’s the difference between a cheetah with some of the snake species found in the African Savannah? Unless you look very closer to the cheetah’s tail then you can be able to spot the difference. The cheetahs tail has beautiful spots that merge to form four to six dark rings at the end. The cheetahs tail as unique as it is just like the lion’s tail which is the center stage in the lion cubs playmate, the cheetah’s tail gives it all the supper qualities it needs to be able to make all those great hunting turns and curves while the cheetah is hunting animals and running away from the different predators.

The elegant cheetah’s tail at a closer range ends in a beautiful bushy white tuft. The African savannah male cheetahs are blessed with a bigger tail as compared to the female cheetahs. While in most of the time people always want to distinguish between a male cheetah from a female cheetah, these small but difficult cheetah facts are some of the most difficult facts about cheetahs. Just as the lion which has an oversized head mostly covered with mane, the male cheetahs have smaller heads which is aerodynamic and helps them during the flight or fight situation as well. People have loved cheetahs for ages. A lot of people have trained these beautiful big cats and some of them as far as the African continent os concerned play and even raise cheetahs in their living environment. Remember its always better to live wild animals in the wild but there is always a time when man has to step in order to save the plight of these beautiful cheetahs which we love and are endangered.

Going on an African animal safari to see cheetahs in their natural habitat and to see a cheetah attacking prey with all the great lips and jumps is a beautiful as your eyes can feast on but what are the chances of you seeing the babies of cheetah in the African jungles. As small as the cheetah babies are and as camouflage as they are, the chances of seeing these beautiful cheetah babies is second to none. Only and unless the mother cheetah is shifting its babies and going to look for another save zone for the baby cheetahs then the golden moment can reveal itself for you to see the cheetah cubs
The cheetah's coat is tan, or buff colored, with black spots measuring from
78 to 1.85 inches across African safari dangerous animals
When the cute funny looking cheetah cubs are born, it’s always difficult to distinguish whether they are baby cheetahs or leopard babies. In most cases the coat of these beautiful dangerous newborn cheetah cubs is dark. A few good cheetah pictures have really inspired many people to help save the cheetah as people have become aware of the cheetah and with its vulnerability despite the cheetah being the fastest animal on land. The cheetah cubs coat has cute spots and makes them some of the most beautiful animals in the world.

The first few weeks of life for a baby cheetah and its mother are very crucial. Cheetah predators living in the cheetah habitat will always attack the cheetah with its new born babies. The smell of blood always attracts different animals of pray in the wilderness like the way the safari ants move their colony.

The cheetah’s Height: 30+ inches at shoulder Weight: 69-140 lbs. Body length:

For protection of the hot and cold African savannah weather, the cheetah cubs are born with a thick yellowish-gray coat. Just like the mane of a horse which extends from the top of the head to the shoulders, the baby cheetah’s mantle just like the horses mane, grows and extends along the cute cheetah’s back. With little protection and vulnerable to the dangerous animals which roam the African jungles, small reptiles, birds of prey and carnivorous animals will always not hesitate to make a meal out of the little baby cheetah but the dark coat of the cub gives it an advantage to easily blend and give it protection from other animals of prey away from the protection of its mother.
How does nature protect these beautiful cheetah cubs? With all survival mechanisms at their disposals there are many myths and facts about cheetah with their tear marks and other cheetah fun facts about their coat

The cheetah is often mistaken for a leopard. Its distinguishing marks are the
long teardrop-shaped lines on each side of the nose from the corner of its
eyes to its mouth animal African safari dangerous animals picture
The baby cheetah’s mantle gives it all the protection it needs while it is on its own. With the different long and short rains in the African savannah, people used to say when you see a rainbow and the sunshine at the same time a cheetah is born. Whether cheetahs are born during the rainy season or the dry season, it has its own advantage. As a matter of fact, when these cute little cubs are born the mantle always acts as a thermostatic umbrella against rain leaving the cheetah cub dry from the inside and helps it from getting cold and shivering to death. If the cubs are bon when the sun is overhead at the equator, the mantle protects it from the overhead sun and thereby cooling the cute cub and from exhaustion from heat.

What are the best survival techniques or qualities for many of the African wild animals while they are in their natural environment? If an animal cannot be seen that’s a very quality as it gives you a chance to walk away from the danger in the wild. If you cannot be able to outrun your predator you just need to blend in with the natural environment and this is a true fact with the baby cheetahs. The mantle of the baby cheetah blends with the golden savannah vegetation which always looks like dead dry grass. How about if the animal attack is imminent? Because animals use their natural instincts and from experiences which they have been instilled with, a lion will always run away from a snake while a mighty elephant will head for the hills when he sees a rat.

Baby cheetahs at the same time look just like honey badger and no animal will dare play or mess with such a small dangerous animal as the results are always devastating. With such given facts about the bay cheetah at its disposal sometimes its sheer luck as to how these beautiful animals survive in the wild where only the rules of the animal jungle prevail and survival for the fittest. Despite the fact that the mantle shades away when the cheetah cubs are almost three months old this beautiful survival cheetah quality will keep on protecting the cute growing cub till the age of two.

A cheetah is an incredible animal whether it is in its natural habitat or in captivity. Very few people have managed to capture this cheetah in action. With its great speed and agility, taking great photographs about cheetahs has always been a challenge to many photographers on a safari but that has not deterred these cheetah and animal photographers to capture the beautiful moments when the cheetah is running and ready to attack its prey.

Guess what a cheetah can accelerate from zero to 40 mph in three strides. Is that first enough to capture the animals being hunted by surprise? How about giving it a try and cloaking full speed of 70 mph in seconds. Does any animal have that chance of evading the cheetah in the wild with such speed?  With the fact that the cheetah runs only with one foot at a time touching the ground gives the cheetah the added advantage of being the fastest animal on land.

The African savanna land where most cheetahs are found is the best training ground for the cheetah and for the cheetah to show its speed potentials. Good hunting techniques and training grounds gives the cheetah the perfect cheetah’s antiquates as the fastest animal in the world. With its in built qualities such as the cheetah’s heart which is the core of speed, this amazing creature has a very powerful heart at its disposal. Just like any good athlete, a strong powerful heart with healthy lungs is just one of the best qualities for a perfect runner like a cheetah.

All cheetahs have strong powerful hearts which is needed for their great speed. A big liver to process all the energy needed and used is just an added advantage for the cheetah.
As far as the cheetahs face profile is concerned, the cheetah has a small head which almost resembles like a house cat. Like any other flat nose dangerous dogs, the cheetah has a flat face which has worked for its advantage and for its survival as well.

The cheetah’ face with its beautiful tear marks has the perfect eyes which are positioned for maximum vision and the expansion in the Savannah at its disposal not forgetting a perfect nose for the cheetah needed to take in all the fresh air needed while in flight. All good runners have a narrow body which helps to prevent drag. The cheetah’s body is narrow and slender with the perfect feet for running.

Cheetah population and distribution

Where in the world do you have the largest population or the largest number of cheetahs? Africa and specially east Africa is know for its big game and the famous Africa’s big five. At the same time, Kenya is one of the best countries where these wild cheetahs and other animals are given almost the freedom they need to roam the land. Tanzania with its diverse cheetah population is another destination for cheetah. But with little information coming in about the cheetah population in the wild and inn captivity, many researches about the cheetah conservation and the cheetah protection estimate that in 1900, more than 100,000 cheetahs were found in at least 44 countries throughout Africa in countries such as Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Malawi, Sudan, South Africa, Angola, Zimbabwe Namibia and Asia in countries such as Iran. Kenya being known as the land with the best flora and fauna people might think that Kenya is home to the world's largest remaining population of cheetah.

This could have been the true facts but when we look closely, Namibia is in fact the country with the largest number of cheetahs in the world.  When we talk about the present cheetah population, these beautiful animals have seen their good days and their bad days both in the wilderness and in captivity. The number of cheetahs is almost extinct in around 20 countries. Who is to blame for the extinction of the cheetah in these countries? If at the moment, there are almost 10,000 cheetahs remaining in the world what preventive measurers are being in cooperated to see that the cheetah population keeps on increasing for the future generation? Despite the fact that the cheetah is considered to be an endangered species the demand for the cheetah leather and cheetah body parts is still lucrative in many worlds’ market. Cheetah hunting for trophies is still permitted in some of the countries where these animals have had a history of the cheetah’s population almost being wiped out.

As far as the cheetah’s habitat feeding and breeding grounds are concerned, Africa was the place where most of the cheetahs were found way back in history. The cheetahs range and hunting grounds covered areas from the tip of Africa to the beautiful coast of South Africa as they extended to the east coast of Africa and many parts of West Africa. Are there any cheetahs in the world's most natural zoo? despite efforts being geared up to help the plight of the cheetahs, its at such places in Zaire at Nandankanan means "Garden of Gods ". Nandankanan zoo is considered as the world's best natural zoo, where animals are not kept in cages instead they are confined in open area with four sides surrounding with water trench.

In other parts, the Mediterranean region was also home to the fastest animals in the world. How did these great animals have such a big range? Was it because their speed took them miles and miles where they could easily get and hunt their food? Was competition with other animals such as the African lion and the beautiful leopard had an advantage over the cheetah with its slim body? Despite the fact that the cheetah being one of the most popular dangerous animals of its kind way back in history, this cat species with only a few of its offspring remaining in the world, you find that the cheetah  in many parts of Asia is nearly extinct due to luck of proper feeding and breeding grounds for the cheetah.

Big cats playing animal rescue save the cheetah cheetah face pictures
There are very few countries in Africa where the concentration of the cheetah in their habitat is abundant. There are many reasons as to why the cheetah’s population is going down or has been going down despite many cheetah conservation efforts worldwide.  The beautiful African savanna land home of the big five and the big cats has seen a demise in its habitat. The land caring capacity for the cheetah has kept of shrinking such that the cheetah’s food web has taken different turns.

Cheetah some of the most dangerous animal attacks in
Uganda Zaire Zimbabwe Tanzania and Kenya animal pic
Humans and mainly the Maasai tribes who live within the protected cheetah habitat have always had conflicts with the cheetahs and hence some of the number of cheetah being killed when they attack the Maasai’s livestock. As a pastoralist tribe the Maasais of east Africa have lives these dangerous beautiful animals for ages. They have known when to attack one another and how to attack but with many people venturing in the cheetah’s habitat in search of wood and other raw material, its such activities which lure people into settling in the vicinity of the cheetah’s country and hence a clash of habitat and domination.

While the Maasais are not the only enemies of the cheetahs not forgetting the poachers who work day and night to skin the cheetahs alive, the survival for the fittest and the basic rule of the jungle is the dominant factor for the demise in the cheetah’s population. Competition of the cheetah with the other wild animals makes the cheetah a lesser animal in the food web. While the African lion takes the lion’s share, the cheetah has to work hard in hunting to feed itself with its cubs in order to make it,

The fastest animal has to compete with the king of the jungle and at the same tome the cheetah has to compete with the animal which has the strongest jaws on land.
